Merry Christmas 2013

Christmas is here and all the decorations are up! Actually they have been up all put together for about a couple of weeks now. I finished the last Christmas project for this season two weeks ago. However, it’s been pretty hectic since then.  So yesterday, on a sunny Christmas Eve morning, I was finally able to take it all in, while sipping my coffee and enjoy my efforts over the past few weeks.

Made || Christmas Stockings | Mesh Ribbon Wreath
Bought || Christmas Stocking Holders (Bed Bath & Beyond) | Warm White Mini LED Lights (Walmart) | Evergreen Garland, Pine Cones & Berries (Michael’s Craft Store)

Made || Felt Christmas Tree Skirt | Ribbon Snowflake Ornaments | Glitter Ornaments| White Ikea Snofint Tablecloth Curtains | Snowmen Lightbulb Ornaments (from 2011) | Sheet Music Star Tree Topper (from 2011)

Made || Glitter Reindeer Silhouette | Winter Tree (Isaiah 9:6) Canvas Painting
Bought|| Ikea Ekby Wall Shelves

Made || Bauble Ornament Wreath
Bought|| Ikea Hemnes Mirror

All of the decorations were inspired by findings on Pinterest, but created with my own twist. For some of the decorations there were tutorials that I found helpful, for others I just figured it out on my own. That’s what I love about DIY projects.

Of all the decorations, the painting has to be the most favorite of them all. To be honest, the design was inspired by a print from Lay Baby Lay. I love it more for what is written on there, a reminder this Christmas that the greatest gift in the form of a baby was born on this day to save all of mankind.

Tis the Season for Christmas DIY Projects!

The holiday season is quickly coming up around the corner, which means soon it’ll be time to put up the Christmas tree. And for the first time, I finally get to decorate the rest of our new house! As exciting as that sounds, I’ve been trying to get a head start on my Christmas decor DIY projects. My goal is to have everything (ok, mostly everything) finished and put up by the time Thanksgiving is here. That way the hubby and I can actually enjoy the holiday season with the house already done up and I’m not spending it drowning in glue and glitter.

*Update* – 12/07/2013

Ok, I’ve been good making progress, but not quite making my self-imposed Thanksgiving deadline. However, I’m feeling pretty confident I’ll be done within a reasonable time before Christmas. The stockings and bauble wreath were projects intended actually for Christmas last year. With those out of the way, I was able to work on projects for this year.

I only have a few more projects to complete before the reveal of it all put together. Stay tuned!
